Workshops
  • A Creative Journey - 1 hour lecture

This lecture and trunk show is an inspirational and informative hour in which I describe my creative journey, to date, in the field of textile arts.

As well as discussing my beginnings in this exciting art form, I will also be presenting a variety of work in which I will speak of my process from original idea to finished artwork This will be an informal presentation with the opportunity for questions to be asked throughout.

  • Women, Creativity and The Fibre Arts - 2 hour lecture

This lecture consists of two components, the first being an overview of the collective talents from some the best artists the fibre arts field has today. A look at their individual styles of working and their philosophy on what it is to be immersed in this unique art form.

The second component will focus on what it is to explore our own creativity. Creativity is something each of us possesses and it is only through a clearer understanding of our own energy and spirit that our creative expression will be brought forward. To be creative is to exist in the the moment allowing all else to fall away... for only the passion to remain.

This lecture, trunk show and power point presentation will focus on a journey into bringing forth one’s own creativity, intuition and artistic expression and learning to discover the infinite possibilities of work in fabric and thread.

I will also be presenting some of my own work as well as discussing my personal experiences in creating my own artwork.

  • Beauty of Nature Revealed in Fabric - 6 hour lecture and workshop

Nature continues to be an endless source of beauty and inspiration to each and everyone of us and it is the focus of this highly creative and intuitive workshop. We can all identify with the pristine beauty of a forest after a snowfall, the illuminating colour of autumn leaves on a walk through the park and the delicate developing buds on trees as spring approaches.

This workshop is designed to teach students a creative and unique way to construct their own beautiful landscape quilt filled with colour, depth, texture, and form.

This workshop is based on free motion machine quilting and is designed to be a highly creative experience encouraging students to explore their own unique artistic nature.
